7 Signs third eye is Blocked poster

The third eye chakra, or Ajna, is often called the center of intuition, inner wisdom, and spiritual perception. When it is balanced, you tend to trust yourself more easily, notice meaningful synchronicities, and feel connected to your own inner guidance. It is also associated with clairvoyance, the psychic ability of clear inner seeing.

But life has a way of drowning out that quiet inner voice.

Stress, fear, constant distractions, unresolved emotions, and chronic self-doubt can all make it difficult to recognize your intuition. While different spiritual traditions explain this in different ways, many people describe the experience as having a blocked or underactive third eye chakra.

The good news is that your intuition isn't gone.

In my experience teaching psychic development, it is always still there but it has simply become buried beneath the noise of everyday life.

If you've been feeling disconnected from your intuition lately, here are some common signs to look for and some gentle ways to reconnect.

1. You Constantly Second-Guess Yourself

One of the biggest signs I see in students isn't a lack of intuition, but a lack of trust.

You receive a feeling, an impression, or a quiet inner knowing, but almost immediately your logical mind begins explaining it away. Before long you've convinced yourself you were "just imagining things."

After years of doing this, it becomes a habit to ignore your own guidance.

The truth is, intuition rarely shouts. It’s much more like a whisper. If you immediately replace that whisper with analysis, eventually you'll stop hearing it altogether.

Try this:

Start keeping an intuition journal.

Before making everyday decisions, write down your first impression in just a few words. Try not to judge it or analyze it.

Later, look back and see how often your first instinct was correct. You may be surprised by how often your intuition was quietly pointing you in the right direction all along.

2. Your Mind Never Stops Racing

A busy mind leaves very little room for intuitive insight.

Intuition is often subtle. If your attention is constantly jumping from emails, to social media, to tomorrow's to-do list, those quiet impressions become much harder to notice.

Modern life doesn't help.

Many of us have unintentionally trained our brains to seek constant stimulation. The moment we have thirty seconds of silence, we instinctively reach for our phones. Over time, this habit makes it increasingly difficult to hear our own thoughts, let alone our intuition.

Try this:

Spend five to ten minutes each day in silence. Turn off your devices. Remove distractions. Simply notice where your mind goes without judgment.

Whether you choose mindful breathing, meditation, or simply sitting quietly with a cup of tea, giving your mind permission to slow down creates space for your intuition to rise to the surface.

If you would like some help slowing down and becoming more present, check out my book, Quiet the Noise: Mindfulness Tools for Everyday Peace. It’s designed to be read in bite size pieces to help you slow down and remember that being present in the here and now is where all your power is.

3. You Feel Spiritually Disconnected

Perhaps meditation feels flat. Maybe you no longer notice synchronicities. Your spiritual practices begin to feel like routines instead of meaningful experiences.

Almost everyone experiences seasons like this. It doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong. Sometimes your soul is simply inviting you to explore something new.

Try this:

Do the thing you've been thinking about. Read the book that's been sitting on your shelf.

Watch the documentary that keeps catching your attention. Visit that retreat. Sign up for the class.

Those repeated nudges rarely appear out of nowhere. In my experience, intuition often guides us toward exactly what we need before we consciously understand why.

You can also reconnect with the practices that first inspired you, whether that's meditation, prayer, journaling, spending time in nature, tarot, or oracle cards, etc.

4. You Ignore Your Gut Feelings

Have you ever looked back at a situation and thought…"I knew I shouldn't have done that."

Most people have.

Often our intuition recognizes something before our logical mind has enough information to explain it. The more we ignore those gentle nudges, the easier they become to dismiss.

Try this:

No matter how silly it seems, just try listening to those little nudges and see what happens. Start taking small chances on your intuition. You don't have to make life-changing decisions overnight.

Practice in low-risk situations. Take the route that "feels right." Choose the restaurant you keep thinking about. Read the book that keeps catching your eye.

Trust grows through experience, and confidence develops one small success at a time.

5. You Struggle to Visualize

This was one I personally struggled with before I received formal training in clairvoyance.

Visualization is closely connected with the imagination and the third eye chakra. If you find it difficult to picture simple objects, colors, or scenes in your mind, your inner vision may simply need more exercise.

Your imagination acts like a gateway to your clairvoyance. But many adults spend very little time imagining anymore. We stop reading novels. We stop daydreaming. We stop creating stories in our minds.

Like any muscle that isn't used regularly, our imagination can weaken but that doesn't mean it's gone.

That's exactly what happened to me. Fortunately, visualization improves remarkably with consistent practice.

Try this:

Read from a book without pictures for at least twenty minutes each day. Allow yourself to daydream about your ideal future. Or spend ten minutes visualizing something simple, like your favorite piece of fruit, a candle flame, a flower, or a peaceful landscape.

Don't worry if the images aren't crystal clear, that will improve in time. Consistency matters far more than perfection. You can also try meditating before visualizing to clear any mental clutter.

6. You Rarely Remember Your Dreams

Everybody dreams. Even those who say they don’t, they just don’t recall them.

Dreams have long been associated with intuition, symbolism, and subconscious guidance. Many people also notice that as their imagination becomes more active, their dream recall improves as well.

If you haven't remembered your dreams in years, it may simply be a skill that needs to be exercised again.

Try this:

Keep a notebook beside your bed. As soon as you wake up, write down even a single emotion, color, or image.

Here's another helpful tip: Try not to move immediately after waking. Many people find dream memories are easier to recall while remaining in the same position they were sleeping in.

Once you begin moving around, those memories often fade surprisingly quickly.

7. You're Constantly Seeking Answers Outside Yourself

Tarot cards. Books. Videos. Psychics. Friends. Teachers. Everywhere but within.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with learning from others. I've devoted my life to teaching because I believe guidance is valuable. But eventually there comes a point where your own inner wisdom deserves a seat at the table.

If every decision requires outside confirmation, you may be overlooking the guidance already within you.

Try this:

Before asking someone else for advice, pause for a moment and ask yourself: "If I already knew the answer... what would it be?"

Don't force it. Simply notice the first response that arises before your analytical mind begins debating it. Then you can certainly check in with someone else and compare what they say with how you feel. This is how you begin to hear your own inner voice.

Can You Really Open Your Third Eye?

Personally, I don't believe your intuition is something you have to unlock. I believe it's something you learn to recognize.

Most people are intuitive, even if they don't realize it yet. The challenge isn't creating psychic abilities from nothing. It's removing the layers of fear, distraction, and self-doubt that keep us from noticing what has always been there.

I'm living proof of that.

At age forty-one, I discovered that what I had always considered a curse - my empathic sensitivity - was actually the doorway into my psychic development.

After years of study, research, and practice, I became a professional psychic medium at age forty-five!

If someone like me can develop these abilities later in life, I truly believe anyone can strengthen their intuition with patience, faith and consistent practice.

Final Thoughts

Your third eye isn't blind. And your intuition hasn't disappeared.

It may simply be waiting beneath layers of stress, distraction, fear, and self-doubt.

The more space you create for silence, imagination, and trust, the easier it becomes to recognize the quiet guidance that has been with you all along.

Every intuitive person begins exactly where you are now. Not necessarily by having dramatic psychic experiences, although that can happen! But usually it’s by noticing those small inner nudges and choosing to trust them.

One quiet impression at a time.

Blessings,

Rachelle
