19 Signs You Are Experiencing A Spiritual Awakening and What To Do About It

There is something wonderful happening on this planet right now. Many of the old ways are coming into question, systems are collapsing, relationships are dissolving, more and more questions are being asked and people are beginning to feel increasingly wary and restless. The consciousness of humanity is growing and people are beginning to take notice. Do you recognize yourself in that? If you do, then you are being called now to wake up.

Just like everything else, consciousness evolves and we humans are no exception to that. We astrologers have known about it for a long, long time. Many believe that as of December 21, 2012, we are in the new age, the Age of Aquarius. This is a time of great change and radical evolution. This is a time of consciousness growth and greater spiritual awareness. Some will go with the flow of these changes, eager to evolve while others may find themselves lost, confused and alone. If you are in the latter group, then this article is for you.

The following are signs that you are beginning to feel the call of evolution and you are starting to wake up. These are in no particular order. If you experience a great many of these, then you are surely being called to drop all of the things in your life which no longer serve your greater purpose and to take up a new path, a path of self-discovery and universal understanding.

1. You feel a sort of emptiness about the way society is telling you to live.

You get a growing sense that all of the things which you were told would bring you happiness are actually bringing you misery. You realize that the things which are advertised to you are for empty and meaningless things. The new car, the pumpkin spice lattes, the new smartphone, the latest Netflix binge worthy series, they all seem rather empty and useless to you. You seek more sustenance for your life.

2. You have a gnawing feeling inside you that something is changing.

You may not be able to explain it, but something inside yourself tells you that you have changed. You are no longer the same person you have always been and you are beginning to see that you lived behind a veil. You are beginning to see that who you really are has yet to come to the surface. But that is all changing now.

3. You have a growing need for more transparent media.

If you have never really been one to keep up on things, you might find yourself suddenly interested in learning more now. Or you may have already been interested in current events, but your interest now has expanded to include information from sources you may have previously dismissed, such as conspiracy theories and alternate media sources. You are giving secondary sources of information a fair chance now.

Before you may not have cared too much about what the media was telling you, but now you are looking at it with a raised eyebrow. You no longer mindlessly take what it tells you and subconsciously make it your opinion. You seek transparency from your media and news sources. You are willing to research and listen to more than one source before you draw your own conclusions.

4. You are gaining a healthy skepticism about the systems.

You are questioning the validity of many of our old systems. You find yourself questioning the government, the financial system, the education system, the media and entertainment industry, the professional sports industry, the healthcare system, and the religious systems. You are beginning to realize that they are no longer serving the needs of the many, only the needs of the privileged few.

5. You have a growing interest in things of an occult nature.

You feel a need to know more about things which might have frightened you before, but now seem to be a plausible and beneficial source of knowledge. Perhaps you are drawn to the earth religions of old such as Wicca or Druidism. Perhaps you feel a need to study astrology, numerology, palmistry and the like. Or perhaps you are beginning to look further into the hidden mysteries of the universe.

6. You have a greater concern about your health and the food you eat.

You are listening to your body more. You realize that what you do for your body makes a real difference to your mental health, not just your physical health. You feel a desire to give your body more nutritious food and a desire to exercise it more simply because it likes to move.

7. You feel a calling toward nature.

You find urban environments to be rather loud and intrusive. You find you feel a slight repulsion by tall buildings, concrete and traffic. You might have a strong desire to take a walk in the woods, go camping or just spend more time in nature instead of being in the urban area.

8. You feel a growing need to be more environmentally aware and active.

You begin to notice how many people are neglecting even the simplest things they can do to help the environment, such as using a trash receptacle. You have a greater awareness of your carbon footprint and want to take action toward being more environmentally responsible for yourself.

9. Your old friends seem different to you.

Your friends no longer seem that interesting to you. They seem to be too caught up in the dramas of their lives, unable to focus on more important things. You find it all to be rather petty and ostentatious. You seek higher quality friends and more meaningful relationships.

10. You begin to notice more synchronicity in your life.

You see signs around you, waking you up to a message you may not yet understand. Such as noticing whenever it says 11:11 on the clock or people making remarks like “perfect timing” or “what a coincidence” to you. You begin to notice that things are not just happening by chance, but by some unknown design.

11. You seek authenticity and no longer want to participate in superficial things.

You begin to notice more and more when people are not being completely honest with you and you feel a need to get away from them. You have a growing desire to be authentic yourself and you seek others who are willing to be authentic with you. You no longer desire to be part of a superficial life.

12. You feel a deep sadness at the state of the world and want to make it a better place.

You begin to realize that the world is really suffering, not just around you but all over the world. Your heart opens to their pain and you feel compassion for them. You feel a desire to do more for others and to help ease their suffering. You take on a service to others attitude rather than a service to self attitude.

13. You have a deep yearning to understand the meaning in your life and a desire for spiritual connection.

You know that you came here for a reason and that there must be some purpose to you being here. You may feel a need to visit a spiritual advisor or counselor. You may find yourself suddenly interested in spiritual things you never considered before. You may decide to follow a new spiritual path.

14. Your intuitive abilities have increased.

You may notice that your intuition is increasing, that you suddenly know things without a reasonable explanation. You might get little feelings, nudging you to take action and if you follow it, you are happily surprised to discover the answer to something you didn’t even know you’ve been asking.

15. Your creativity is itching to be released.

You feel a desire to be more creative, to get your hands busy. You may wish to do more arts and crafts. You may feel a need to create something that tells a story. You may feel a desire to learn a new artistic skill.

16. Your sleep patterns have changed.

You find that you no longer sleep the same amount of hours or the times your body wishes to sleep have changed. You may find a growing need to take a nap during the day to help you recharge.

17. You are losing the desire to worry about things you cannot control.

You feel the need to pick your battles more carefully. You realize that you cannot fix it all and are more willing to let go of the things which upset you. You realize that they are not worth you feeling bad over because you cannot control them, you can only control yourself.

18. You have an increased willingness to compromise and find peaceful solutions.

You no longer feel the need to defend or argue over petty things. You look now for harmony and you often find yourself being the peacekeeper, reminding people that learning to work together is the only way to live peacefully on this planet.

19. You begin to feel a deeper connection to all life.

You feel a greater awareness for all the life around you. You think about the animals, the plants and of course, other people more often. You take their needs into consideration before taking action which might affect them. You feel the connection to life and the universe and you understand that even though you are but a tiny piece of it, what you do as an individual holds considerable significance for the greater whole.

What To Do About Your Awakening

First of all, relax. You may not realize this, but your thoughts are extremely powerful. The more you worry and fret over things, the more things you will create in your life to worry about. Whenever the anxiety of it gets to you, remind yourself that all of your personal experiences are really only happening in your mind. Yes, they may seem to be external, but really it is your perception of them which make them real to you. It is your emotional response which determines your experience of it. Your emotions play a very important role in how your life plays out and the sooner you learn to use them to guide you, the better your life will be.

Learn to meditate. Meditation is extremely beneficial in many different ways. Not only does it aid in stress reduction, but it also brings clarity and peace of mind. It can do wonders for your anxiety as it teaches you how to get your mind off of the things which make you feel bad. The more you do this, the more you will understand that you have all of the answers you will ever need right inside of you. If you are new to this, try some guided meditations to get you started. There are many different types from which to choose, just find one that seems interesting to you and try it.

Seek the counsel of other like minded individuals. With the internet, we have instant, global communication available to us, so there is no excuse not to connect with others. Do some searches for websites, forums and chat rooms for people who have the same interests as you do. Or if you are feeling so inclined, start a group where you live and invite others to come and talk about the things you are interested in. You can start a spiritual book club or join someone else’s. Connect with others who are also waking up and seek the wisdom of those already awakened.

Watch thoughtful and inspirational documentaries. There are a great deal of documentaries available to assist you in your spiritual growth and awareness. Here are some recommendations.

Drop or decrease all the negative influences in your life. These will only prove to slow you down if not prevent you from seeking your inner truth. This could mean something as simple as cutting out television or social media, or it could mean something as drastic as no longer hanging out with people who drain you and make you feel bad about yourself.

Spend more time in nature. Instead of going home after a long day of work, take some time to stop by the park and take a stroll. Or take a weekend camping trip, away from all electronics and other distractions. Take time to sit quietly and observe the beauty of nature. Meditating in nature is one of the best ways to get in tune with your own natural rhythm.

Seek knowledge and understanding. Do some research, read more books and talk to others who know the topics you are exploring. Stop wasting your free time on frivolous and empty things. This is time you could spend learning and growing as an individual instead of wasting time doing something which doesn’t fulfill you. Remember, time is your most precious commodity, use it wisely.

Connect the dots. Question authority. Question the narrative. Stop worrying what others might think of you if you look into conspiracy theories. Think for yourself and find your own information. Follow your interests and do some exploring. Keep an open mind, no matter how paradigm shattering the information may be. Don't be afraid to question everything and get ready for a very interesting ride!

The rabbit hole goes deep. Question everything.

Other Things You Can Do To Help Your Awakening

  • Stop negativity, practice positivity.
  • Spend less time on social media.
  • Pick up trash in public spaces.
  • Take hot baths with epsom salts.
  • Go to the park and walk barefoot upon the earth.
  • Carry helpful crystals with you. Some suggestions: onyx, amethyst, clear or rose quartz and citrine.
  • Put away your cell phone and pick up a book.
  • Stop or cut back on television, even the news. Don’t worry, people will alert you to anything important.
  • Cut back on your sugar intake, seek natural sweeteners instead. Avoid artificial sweeteners!
  • Take a walk around your neighborhood and wave to your neighbors as you pass.
  • Notice your consumption habits and donate or get rid of any excess stuff you may have lying around.
  • Volunteer for a worthy cause.
  • Start a garden and learn to grow and cook your own food.
  • Walk or take your bike instead of your car whenever the opportunity arises.
  • Spend more time with your children and pets.
  • Practice more arts and crafts, awaken your creative mind.
  • Accept that you are here with a higher purpose and that you are on the path to your greater good.

No matter how these earth changes may be affecting you personally, the fact that you are reading an article about waking up is a very good sign. For it means that we are well on our way to making a new and improved world, because you are already waking up. This is important because we are going to be seeing more and more changes in the years ahead and the world is going to need people who are awake and aware of what is happening around them.

Although it may be rough on some of us, awakening to the truth of our existence is vital. We are on the precipice of great, global change and the more awake we are, the easier the transition will be on us. Be well and know that you are embarking on the most important journey of your life.

The new earth awaits us.

Introduction to Numerology

Numerology is a spiritual tool used for self‐analysis and growth. It centers upon the belief that we chose our lives in order to grow as a soul and so that we may eventually become enlightened. Reincarnation is a major factor in numerology as is karma. On our spiritual journey, we make decisions and take actions, creating karma along the way. In each lifetime, we are dealing with karma from our past lives as well as from our current life.

Numerology helps you explore the various aspects of yourself and your environment so that you can better understand your soul’s journey. The actions which we take in this lifetime can help us grow as a soul. By knowing your numerology profile, you can be better informed and make wiser decisions. You don’t have to believe in reincarnation or karma in order to benefit from numerology, but it certainly helps makes sense of your profile.

Numbers do not have power over you ‐ you always have free will. However, it’s important to realize there’s more at work in a person’s life than just what you see on the surface. Numbers contain two major elements: a vibrational frequency that attracts certain energy like a magnet, and a potential for spiritual attraction and connection. Your personal numbers create a template for the energy in your life. Numerology can help you understand how to live in accordance with your own natural energy or how to change it.

Once you become aware of the principles of numerology and the meanings behind your numbers, you’ll have the code to change the energy surrounding your life to a harmonious vibration that allows you to be more successful and reach your highest potential.

Numerology can work hand in hand with astrology and the tarot as well, which is why I include a general overview of it, along with astrology, when I perform tarot readings for clients. These three branches of metaphysical knowledge are wonderful tools for gaining a greater understanding of what we are all doing here in this life.

Your Numerology Profile

There are a number of different schools of thought in Numerology and therefore some of the calculations are called slightly different names. Generally speaking, there is one that always remains the same that is your Life Path Number. This is the number derived from your birth day and it never changes. The Life Path Number gives you a general idea of what direction your life is headed and how you can best use numbers to assist you in your path. It also shows your main personality traits that you will show when interacting with others, it's a bit like the sun sign in astrology.

There are, of course, many other calculations in your numerology profile and each one represents different facets of your life. For a complete profile, I recommend that you see a professional numerologist but for now, knowing your Life Path Number and your Personal Timing numbers can be a nice and practical use of numerology in your everyday life.

To calculate your Life Path Number, simply add the numbers of your birth date together until you get a single digit. Break it down as far as you go unless you get 11, 22 or 33 (see below).

Example: 6/26/2012 would be: 6+2+6+2+0+1+2 = 19 which is 1+9 = 10 which is 1+0 = 1.

The only exception to that is if you get a Master Number of 11, 22 or 33. Do not break those down. The Master Numbers carry a higher frequency and can therefore be more of a difficult path for people. It requires mastery but not everyone can live up to that so often times you will meet a Master Number but they do not live up to their potential so they instead operate at the lower frequency of the numbers being added together. For example, a 22 person may not live up to the potential of the Mastery required so they would instead operate at the level of the 4. That is why you will often see Master Numbers depicted as such: 11/2, 22/4 and 33/6.

How to Calculate Your Personal Timing Numbers Any Time of the Year

By following some basic math, you can determine your personal number vibrations for the year, the month and even the day. This gives you an idea on what to expect each year, month and day or better yet, gives you guidance on how to time and plan things in order to work in accordance with your personal number vibration. Need to balance your checkbook? Look for a number 8 day. Want to plan your wedding? Look for a number 6 year and/or a number 6 month and/or a number 6 day! Use the table below to see the keywords for each number, this will give you guidance for every day of the year!

Calculating numbers in Numerology is pretty easy. Just add all the numbers together to find the answer (remember to reduce all numbers to a single digit unless the final answer is a master number: 11, 22 or 33). Let's use my birthday, March 15 as an example to see exactly how this is done. Don't worry, after a little practice you'll get it down pretty quick.

Using this information in combination with your astrology chart will really give you an advantage in planning your activities!

How to calculate your personal timing numbers

Personal Year (birth month + birth year + calendar year)

You can calculate your personal year by adding your birth month to your birth day plus the calendar year. So using March 15 as the birthday, it is calculated as such:

3 + 15 + 2014 = 7  (remember to reduce all numbers to a single digit unless the final answer is a master number; 11, 22, 33)

Let's break it down so you can see how this is done:

3 + 1+5 + 2+0+1+4 = 16 (1+6) = 7

or if you prefer break it down by each component as such:

3 + 6 + 7  = 7

Personal Month (personal year + calendar month)

You can calculate your personal month by adding your personal year number to the calendar month. So using March 15 as the birthday still, the month of December is calculated as such:

7 + 12 = 1

Let's break it down:

7  + 1 + 2 = 19

1+9 = 10

1+0 = 1

or if you prefer break it down by each component as such:

7 + 3  = 1

Personal Day (personal month + calendar day)

You can calculate your personal day by adding your personal month number + the calendar day. Continuing with March 15 as the example birthday, the day of December 1, 2014 is calculated as such:

1 + 1 = 2

This one's pretty simple, right?

Knowing your personal numbers for any time of the year can give you an advantage in planning for your life, not to mention give you greater understanding of your personal journey. Numerology is an easy yet fascinating tool. I encourage you to start using it in your everyday life and see for yourself.

Have fun!

The Law of Attraction in Brief

The Law of Attraction is a universal law similar to the law of gravity in that it is inherent in our universe whether you are aware of how it works or not. It is a law of creation which states “that which is like unto itself is drawn”. In other words, like attracts like. You can also state it as such: “What you focus upon increases.” If you place your attention on something for a little while, you build momentum and in time, you will begin to experience more things just like it. The more emotional energy you focus with increases the momentum.

When I first heard of the Law of Attraction, I didn’t quite get it. I saw the movie, The Secret and like most people, I was intrigued by the possibilities. I read a couple of books about it and I even tried playing around with the manifestation part of it, because let’s face it, we’re here for the stuff, right? But I was missing the point. I didn’t realize that it was essentially telling me that I had the ability to control what came into my life by my deliberate focus and the most important piece - by my emotional vibration. It wasn’t until several years later when I was studying energy and Quantum Physics that it began to make sense to me. I like to think of it as magnetic energies which emanate from a point of attraction (my emotional focus) which send out vibrational waves of magnetic energy. Things which match this vibration are then drawn toward the point of attraction (me) like a magnet.

You can observe this easily in your everyday life. Have you or someone you know ever purchased a new car? Soon after being made aware of the color, make and model of the car, you begin to notice other cars like it as you are out and about. You begin to see that same type of car everywhere you go. It has been made more significant to you because of your attention to it and now you are noticing it more and more. The reason you are noticing it more and more is because the law of attraction is bringing to your awareness those things which match what you were putting your attention on. The other cars were already there, but because of your shift in focus, you are now becoming more aware of them. It is as if everything is being pulled by an invisible, magnetic force to be brought to your awareness. This is the force of creation, this is the law of attraction and it is the manager of all things in the universe.

The same law holds true for when things are not working out so well. Have you ever woken up in a not so good mood and then notice as the day progresses, that your day just keeps getting worse? Maybe you start off by being annoyed with the alarm clock and then it’s immediately made worse when you step on something painful like your child’s toy when you first get out of bed. This puts you in a grumpy mood and if you don’t do anything to make yourself feel better emotionally, you carry that feeling with you as you get ready for work. Everyone else around  you seems to be slowing you down and getting in your way. Then you end up burning your breakfast because your attention was drawn to something else and now you’ve run out of time to make another breakfast so you skip it altogether and now you’re beyond grumpy. You’re really annoyed and you’re dealing with the fear of being late. Then you get in your car to get to work when you’d much rather be at home sleeping, but before you can get too far, you realize that you left your wallet back at your house. Grumbling, you go back to your house to get your wallet and by the time you’re back on the road, you find yourself in traffic. And now you’re really annoyed because now you know you’re going to be late. You’re in a rotten mood and your day is ruined and you haven’t even made it to your destination yet! This is law of attraction at work.

Although that little scenario doesn’t sound like it's coming from a source of well-being, the law of attraction doesn’t take sides. It always plays fair because it always gives you what you are putting out. In this sense, karma is true as what you put out, you get back. It is the law of creation and it is how all things in this timespace reality come to be. A better word for it might be momentum. The law of attraction is the force which builds momentum of energy based on a point of attraction which results in a full blown manifestation of that energy. So if you are emitting a signal of frustration, you will attract more things into your experience that will frustrate you. Similarly, if you are emitting a signal of joy, you will attract more things into your experience that will bring you joy. The key point to this is that you are a point of attraction. You are a powerful creator and you created the scenario whether it seems that way to you or not. But the good news is that you have the ability to control your point of attraction.

This is a universe of inclusion. Nothing is excluded. Whatever you put your attention on will become more because that is how the creative forces work. This includes things which are unwanted. The more you push against something unwanted, the more it shows up in your life. Your attention makes it more so. This is why it’s so important to support and promote that which you want more of rather than fight against that which you do not want. If you hate what is happening to our food with all of the pesticides, the solution does not lie in protesting or fighting against the pesticide companies. Your attention on their practices will only increase your experiences of it. Rather, the solution lies in focusing on what it is you are wanting. In this example, this may mean promoting and supporting local, organic farmers and what they do, for what you focus upon increases.

In order to stop building upon the unwanted, we must learn to turn our attention toward something wanted instead. We cannot say no to something and exclude it from our attention, for when we say no to something we are actually saying yes to it simply by having our attention upon it. Nothing can be excluded. So we must divert our attention or we must distract ourselves by focusing upon something else, preferably upon the things which are wanted.

Whether you believe in the Law of Attraction or not doesn’t matter. It is still working regardless. You can test this out for yourself. All you have to do is notice how you’re feeling and then watch what comes to you. Watch others and listen to their words, in time you can see how they create situations for themselves based on their focus and their beliefs. This is creating by default.

The fact that you create your own reality is not always an easy concept to accept especially when it seems to you that something has happened to you because of someone or something else. But in truth, nothing is ever happening to you, it is happening for you. There is a huge difference between the two and if this concept is new to you, it may take some time before you can really see it working in your life. I know it took me a long while. Feel free to test it and see for yourself because it isn’t the words that you are reading here that will teach you, it is your life experience that will teach you. But don’t worry, if you continue to look for evidence of it, you will find it. That’s the way it works.

Your Source of Well-Being

If you take a closer look at life on our planet, you will begin to see the wondrous way the plants and the animals and the elements interact with one another. There is a beautiful synergy which occurs in nature, one which allows life to flow easily and continuously. The plants thrive within the elements of nature, the sun and water and the nutrients from the earth. Insects and animals live off the plants and other animals live off of the plant eating animals. When those plants and creatures perish, their bodies return to the earth which turns their bodies into nutrients for the soil and plants. Not to mention the wondrous way our climate continues to cycle to aid the elements and all of nature. It’s a beautiful process which works perfectly in alignment with the desires and well-being of all life involved. When one sees this process, one is made aware of an intricate and awe inspiring system which is prevalent in all forms of life.

How is such a perfect system of balance and well-being capable of being? Is it just some random result from a giant ball of chaos? Is it a fluke that the energies in the universe came together and formed not only life on this planet, but this very planet itself, not to mention the solar system, the galaxy and beyond? Is it just chance that the planets are spinning in perfect proximity to one another? Is it just chance that Earth happened to be in the perfect spot to be capable of sustaining life? Or did someone or something create it? And if it was someone or something, then why did it create it? And most importantly, what do we do with it?

To me, to think that the Universe is the result of some random chaos requires more faith than is required to believe that there is an all prevailing source of life from which all of the universe stems. To me, the idea of a creator is obvious. It is obvious in the natural world, it is obvious in the amazing way our bodies work. It is obvious in the beautiful cycles which nature uses to continue living. Such a system could not be the result of random chance. The odds of something like that happening by sheer luck are beyond astronomical and to me it’s almost ridiculous to assume that the universe came about by chance. No, there is obviously a design to it and if there is a design to it, then there had to be a designer.

The designer is the original creator, the energy source from which everything comes. You can call it god if you want to, but I find that the word god is a loaded word for most people. They have their own thoughts and ideas on what that word means. I like to refer to it as Source or Spirit or your Inner Being. I believe that everything ultimately comes from Source and I believe that this Source is pure, positive energy. There is no source of evil, there is only a source of goodness. I believe that the dominant force in the universe is well-being. If it were otherwise, I do not believe we would have gotten this far. We would have killed ourselves off long ago. Thankfully well-being abounds and we continue our cycles of life, always evolving into more through our life experiences.

In this regard, the argument of Creationism vs. Evolution is entirely unnecessary for I believe the two work together. They are two sides of the same coin. In some religions we are taught that God is infinite and eternal. We are also taught that God made the world and then rested as if all the work was now done and God is now sitting back, watching us go about our days. But if we believe that God is eternal, it is illogical to assume that God is all done. What if the idea that God is done and complete is a flawed premise? What if God or creation or Source or whatever name you wish to give it, is ever expanding? If we believe that God is eternal then we cannot say that it is complete. Eternal means never ending, no limits, no boundaries.

So therefore for it to be eternal, it must always be evolving and becoming more. I propose that this is true as nothing else makes sense. If it were complete, then it would have an ending, it would be finite and life would not continue. But by its very nature, that which is eternal must continue otherwise it would not be eternal. It continues to expand and become more through its own creation, creating and evolving itself as it goes along. It is the very epitome of perpetual motion. We, as humans, as animals and plants and all things in the Universe are contributing to that expansion simply by living our everyday lives. We are always becoming more.

Extensions of Source

I believe that everything in this vast universe comes from the Source of All That Is. I believe that everything in existence is an extension of this Source. We, as human beings, are on the leading edge of thought as we are an extension of Source Energy. We are the creator. We are out here, in a physical, material world to experience creation on a new level, in a dimension which uses time and space for its manifested reality. I believe that we are here to take life further than it has ever been before. I believe that we are here to create because that is what we are, creators.

I believe that we are Source energy in physical bodies, but for the most part, we have forgotten this. We are spiritual beings having a physical experience. I believe that we were Source Energy before we got here in our physical bodies and that the larger part of us still is that Source Energy. That is the life force, our soul if you will. I believe that the Source part of us is the older, wiser part which we call intuition or instinct and it is something which we can tune into for clarity and guidance as we walk about here on the leading edge of creation. It can give us this guidance as our Source has the advantage of overview and is aware of all paths available to us. It is our Source and since we came from it, we must be just like it. I believe that our natural state of being is one of pure, positive energy because there is an underlying truth to everyone and everything: we all want to feel good.
